A Clear Vision for a Clearwater Remodel
Clearwater Lake, Industry– A 1950s lakefront ranch was thoughtfully remodeled to open the floor plan to reconnect the home’s interior with its lakefront setting.
Ecological Instincts provided whole-home design services to reimagine the layout of this 1950s ranch-style log cabin. A narrow sunporch originally separated the lake view from the main living spaces, limiting the home’s connection to the surrounding scenery.
Through a series of 3D renderings, Ecological Instincts developed a full remodel plan that opened interior walls and reconfigured the floor plan to bring the lake view into the heart of the home. The renovation included a new kitchen and seating area, a redesigned primary bathroom, and relocation of the interior stairs to improve circulation and allow for reconfiguration of a finished basement apartment.
Ecological Instincts was pleased to collaborate with several skilled contractors on this project, including LP Homes (general contractor), The Breathable Home (insulation and heat pumps), and Sebastian Tooker Construction (custom cabinetry).
The new kitchen features hardwood maple flooring, custom cherry cabinetry, and stone countertops, complemented by energy-efficient windows, lighting, and appliances that enhance both the warmth and efficiency of the space.
